Title: Systems Administrator
Location: San Diego, CA
Compensation: $70,000 – $75,000 /per Year
Work Type: Contract-To-Hire
Work Location: On-Site
- Deliver high-touch technical and customer support via phone, email, chat, and web inquiries for RDT&E network users; thoroughly document, triage, track, and resolve security-related tickets within the designated government ticketing tool.
- Analyze security scanner findings to recommend precise patches, hotfixes, and countermeasures; conduct initial reviews of event and incident logs to perform rapid threat triage.
- Assist System Administrators with authenticated scanning setups, 802.1x network access control, and Comply-to-Connect (C2C) integration while supporting users with VPN configurations, endpoint security software, and unauthorized software removal.
- Provide direct technical support for Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) configuration and verification across systems to ensure rigid baseline compliance.
- Partner closely with multidisciplinary cybersecurity subject matter experts to expand technical skills while safeguarding critical US Government networks.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess an active US Government Secret clearance.
- Active certification in at least one of the following: CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP.
- Microsoft MCSA or documented equivalent technical training.
- 13 years of hands-on technical experience in an IT service desk or help desk environment.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Functional knowledge of ITIL processes; ITIL Foundation Certification is highly preferred.
- HDI-Customer Service Representative (HDI-CSR) or other formal IT customer service credentials.
- Familiarity with government RDT&E environments, log analysis, and baseline operating standards.
