Job TypeFull-Time / Part-Time (flexible)
About UsTurn Zero Sim Racing is a new, premier sim racing center opening soon in Downtown Encinitas. We are building a fleet of high-end motion simulators running a mix of industry-standard software (like Assetto Corsa) and specialized venue management software. We are looking for tech-savvy racing enthusiasts to help us build the fleet as we prepare to open and run the venue once we open.
The RoleThis is not your typical job. If you’re a sim racing enthusiast, this is probably the most fun job you will ever have. You are the track marshal, race steward, and crew chief overseeing our fleet of ultra-realistic racing simulators. You are responsible for ensuring every simulator is running perfectly, the racing is fun and fair, and (most important) our customers have a great time.
This role will start in late March or early April (before we open to the public) to help assemble the rigs, fine tune simulator settings (including force feedback, motion, and perspective), and configure our venue management system so we have a smooth-running operation from day 1. Our grand opening is currently planned for the first weekend of May. Once we open, you will lead shifts, troubleshoot technical glitches on the fly, and ensure our customers have a flawless race experience.
You’ll Do
- Pre-Open Build-Out: Assist with physical assembly of monitor stands, mounting driver controls, cable management, and software setup.
- Day-to-Day Tech Support: Maintain high-performance PCs and sim racing hardware. Troubleshoot day-to-day issues and help identify and implement opportunities for operational improvement within Assetto Corsa and its add-ons, our venue management system, our booking and POS systems, and our hardware ecosystem.
- Customer Service: Onboard new customers, get them fitted in the car, and brief them on controls.
- Coaching: Monitor races for driving standards, sportsmanship, or other behavior that may lead to a negative experience. Provide coaching as needed and handle problematic or high-conflict situations diplomatically.
- A Techie: You know your way around a sim rig. You know that there are a lot of tricks to getting a curved triple monitor setup working just right. You know which software works best for headset chat functionality. You have an opinion about what functionality should be on the steering wheel controls and what should go on the button box.
If software starts crashing or the framerate drops, you know how to troubleshoot. - A Racer: You understand racing lines, apexes, and braking points. You know which cars and tracks are good for beginners and--in just 20 seconds--you can tell someone who’s never even thought about driving a car on a track enough that they’ll be able to complete a clean lap in their first session and have fun.
- A Leader: You are cool under pressure. You can handle a busy Saturday night and politely but firmly enforce rules.
- Experience with common sim racing hardware and software.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs (for rig assembly and maintenance).
- Must be at least 21 years of age, or will turn 21 before the end of 2026 (we are applying for a license to sell alcohol).
- Free sim time on ultra-high-end motion rigs.
