We are seeking a Patent Agent to join a well‑established patent prosecution practice supporting clients with the development and protection of mission‑critical technologies. This role is ideal for a technically strong patent professional who enjoys hands‑on prosecution work and collaborating closely with attorneys, inventors, and technical teams. The position offers exposure to a wide range of technologies and provides meaningful responsibility across all phases of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Review invention disclosures and participate in inventor disclosure meetings
- Conduct prior art searches and analyze patentability
- Draft patent applications across a range of technologies
- Respond to USPTO office actions, including developing response strategies and conducting examiner interviews
- Manage U.S. and foreign patent dockets
- Support patent due diligence and freedom‑to‑operate analyses
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure high‑quality, efficient prosecution
- USPTO registration required
- At least 1 year of patent prosecution experience
- Technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies: software, hardware/devices, databases, artificial intelligence, wireless, image or signal processing
- Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism in working with clients and colleagues
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
