Opportunity

We are looking for a junior to mid-level corporate associate (2-5 years of experience) to join our transactional practice focusing on common interest developments and real estate law. This role offers substantive, hands‑on experience working directly with HOA boards and tackling sophisticated governance and land use matters.

What You'll Do

As an associate at Green & French, you will handle a diverse range of transactional and advisory matters, including:

  • Restating and amending CC&Rs and other governing documents for homeowners associations, condominiums, and planned communities
  • Reviewing and negotiating various contracts on behalf of HOA clients
  • Advising HOA boards on complex governance issues, including compliance with the Davis‑Stirling Act
  • Drafting and negotiating land use agreements, easements, and development‑related documents
  • Providing strategic counsel to boards on operational and legal matters

This position offers significant client interaction and the opportunity to develop expertise in a specialized and growing practice area.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

  • Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
  • 2-5 years of transactional experience, preferably in real estate, land use, or common interest development law
  • Experience representing HOAs, community associations, or related real estate entities strongly preferred
  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously

This is a full‑time hybrid role for an Associate Attorney based in San Diego, CA. The role involves a combination of in‑office responsibilities and work‑from‑home flexibility. Day‑to‑day tasks include providing legal advice, conducting legal research, drafting documentation, and representing clients in legal matters. The Associate Attorney will work closely with clients, negotiate agreements, and handle matters related to common interest developements and land use, ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Effective Negotiation skills to advocate and resolve disputes
