Real Estate Legal Assistant

Description

A well-established, full-service law firm in Downtown San Diego is seeking a transactional legal secretary.

This firm has an excellent reputation in the San Diego legal community, and the role will support a real estate partner.

Please do not apply if you've never worked in a law firm handling real estate transactional work. The attorneys require this experience.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare transactional real estate documents such as purchase & sale agreements, escrow documents, and corporate formation materials - prior experience in this transactional practice area is a must!

- Monitor and manage the attorney's calendar (including providing regular reminders of deadlines)

- Draft and redline contracts such as commercial leases

- Compose correspondence and manage email communication with attorney clients

- Check for potential conflicts of interest with clients

- Work with title companies on preliminary title reports and escrow closings

- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes from annual meetings

- Handle the process of sending out contracts for signature via Docu Sign

- Assist in the preparation of closing binders for real estate transactions

- Conduct research to obtain statements of information from Secretary of State website for various entities

- Process client invoices

Transactional legal secretaries with knowledge of AIA, AIR, and CAR are strongly encouraged to apply!

Pay is contingent upon fluency with the duties above. For a candidate who checks all the boxes above, a six-figure salary may be plausible.

Requirements

- 5+ years of experience as a transactional legal secretary

- Ability to commute to downtown San Diego daily (no remote work for now, but firm provides a healthy transportation stipend)

- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate law

- Experience supporting partner-level attorneys
