Overview
As a Supply Chain Specialist at Tandem Diabetes Care, you will manage sourcing and procurement of components and finished goods, partner with internal teams and suppliers to keep production plans on track, maintain healthy inventory levels, and resolve supply issues.
Responsibilities- Manage purchase orders and supplier communications to support production needs.
- Send accurate forecasts and planning updates to vendors.
- Track and maintain optimal inventory levels and lead times.
- Resolve delivery issues and supplier performance concerns quickly.
- Handle change orders, part setups, and BOM updates in the ERP system.
- Ensure data integrity across item masters, MRP inputs, and component records.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Contract Manufacturers to validate BOMs.
- Support sourcing for new products, long‑lead buys, and end‑of‑life components.
- Conduct supplier reviews, QBRs, negotiations, and KPI tracking.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts across procurement and material flow.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
- 4+ years of experience in material procurement with change‑order experience.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of MRP planning, purchasing processes, and inventory management.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and support manufacturing requirements.
- Effective communication skills for both strategic discussions and tactical execution.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
- Collaborative mindset and proactive problem‑solving approach.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, planning, and manufacturing teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Hybrid. Must be located in the San Diego area. The role requires on‑site work at our Barnes Canyon office 3 days per week, with the possibility of remote work depending on business needs.
Compensation and BenefitsBase salary range: $73,000–$91,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on experience and market conditions. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage starting first day, health savings and flexible spending accounts, 11 paid holidays, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (accrued from day1), a 401(k) plan with company match, and an employee stock purchase plan.
