Clinical Materials Handler

We are seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Materials Handler to support laboratory production and R&D operations through effective inventory and materials management. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, labeling, storing, tracking, and distributing laboratory materials and supplies while ensuring inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted support of laboratory and production activities.

The ideal candidate has experience in inventory control or material handling within a regulated environment and thrives in a fast-paced setting where organization, accuracy, and collaboration are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, verify, and document inbound materials, including part numbers, lot numbers, and quantities.
  • Label, store, organize, and distribute laboratory materials and supplies in accordance with SOPs and quality requirements.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels using Kanban and other inventory management systems to ensure material availability.
  • Track material expiration dates and support inventory rotation activities.
  • Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments while ensuring proper documentation and compliance requirements are met.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions when needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation within company systems.
  • Partner closely with laboratory, production, research, and inventory management teams to support operational goals.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory processes and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field).
  • 2+ years of experience in material handling, inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain support.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, clinical laboratory, or GMP/GLP setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and SOPs.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting laboratory, biotech, pharmaceutical, or clinical operations.
  • Familiarity with Kanban inventory systems and cycle counting processes.
  • Knowledge of inventory management best practices, inventory reconciliation, and materials tracking.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with laboratory, production, and supply chain teams.

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
