- Perform Customs business activities
- Responsible for transactions with U.S. Customs (CBP) concerning the entry and admissibility of merchandise
- Conduct effective research, communicate with the client and/or CBP, manage Customs entries, monitor clearance, and recordkeeping
- Review Customs documents to be filed with CBP ensuring accuracy
- Verify classification and valuation with the importer when necessary
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations
- Obtain the appropriate documents required to support claims or disclaims
- Ensure proper and timely payment of duties, taxes, or other charges assessed or collected by CBP
- Maintain documents required under 19 CFR 163
- Monitor and track customs clearances and resolve any delays or issues
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, customs brokers, and government agencies to resolve customs-related issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures
- Attend provided trainings
- Support the development and implementation of customs compliance procedures and policies
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Customs brokerage
- U.S. Customs Brokerage License Certification in customs compliance or a related area preferred
- Experience working with a variety of industries and commodities
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, processes, and documentation
- Attention to detail and accuracy in customs declarations and record-keeping
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Proficient in using customs management software and systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrates expertise in Customs brokerage, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and effective management of customs entries and documentation. Proficient in customs management software and skilled in analytical problem-solving to address customs-related issues.
