Material Specialist – Navy C4

ISR Production Facility:

A Material Specialist in a Navy C4

ISR Production Facility manages end‑to‑end material flow-receiving, inventory control, warehousing, ERP documentation, and coordination with production-to ensure C4

ISR rack builds, restorations, and integrations never stall due to material delays. This role blends Navy supply‑system expertise, warehouse operations, audit readiness, and production support.

Role Purpose

Ensures all material required for C4

ISR production, integration, restoration, and testing is properly sourced, received, stored, tracked, issued, and documented in accordance with Navy ERP, NAVWAR/NIWC processes, and audit‑readiness standards. Supports production shops, engineering teams, and logistics personnel by maintaining accurate inventory, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring material availability aligned with production priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Receipt & Inspection - Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments; ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with Navy ERP "Goods Receipt" processes.
  • Inventory Control & Warehouse Management - Maintain accurate inventory records, labeling, storage, and tracking of all materials; conduct causative research to resolve discrepancies and maintain data validity.
  • Material Movement & Staging - Coordinate movement of materials between inspection, staging, production, and shipping areas; operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment as required.
  • Supply System Research & Ordering - Research NSNs, part numbers, and technical data to identify, request, or order materials using Navy supply systems and ERP tools.
  • Production Support - Ensure materials are available to meet production schedules for C4

    ISR rack builds, repairs, overhauls, and integration activities; coordinate closely with production supervisors and engineering teams.
  • Audit Readiness & Compliance - Maintain accountability and auditability of Operating Materials & Supplies (OM&S); support FIAR requirements through accurate receiving, inventory, and long‑term storage practices.
  • Material Optimization - Minimize excess on‑hand material while maximizing redistribution of available inventory to meet Fleet requirements; support IUID and RFID tracking implementations.
  • Documentation & Reporting - Maintain records of material transactions, discrepancies, losses, damage, or destruction; ensure compliance with Navy safety, supply, and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma;
    Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred depending on facility requirements.
  • 3–5 years of experience in C4

    ISR, Navy logistics, warehousing, or material management.
  • Experience with Navy ERP, CMPro, or similar supply‑chain systems.
  • Proficiency in inventory control practices, data entry, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical warehouse duties; forklift certification or ability to obtain.
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, and adherence to Navy safety and supply procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior Navy, NIWC, NAVWAR, or DoD logistics experience.
  • Knowledge of OM&S, FIAR, IUID, and RFID tracking systems.
  • Experience supporting C4

    ISR depot or production environments.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001).
Clearance Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
    ; active clearance preferred.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and government vehicles.
  • Work performed in secure Navy production, warehouse, and staging facilities.
