Buyer II
We are seeking a highly motivated Buyer to join our Supply Chain team and play a critical role in supporting purchasing operations, supplier management, and on-time material delivery. This position is responsible for executing purchase orders, driving supplier accountability, resolving past due orders, and maintaining accurate ERP data to support production schedules and business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations and thrive in a fast-paced environment where responsiveness, organization, and strong communication skills are essential. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on production continuity, inventory health, customer delivery performance, and overall supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Create, release, and maintain purchase orders within the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
- Monitor open purchase orders and proactively manage past due, late, and unconfirmed order lines.
- Partner with suppliers to obtain delivery commitments, expedite critical materials, and resolve order discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate supplier and order data to provide real-time visibility into supply chain performance.
- Identify potential supply risks and work proactively to minimize production disruptions.
- Collaborate closely with Planning, Operations, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support production requirements.
- Support supplier onboarding activities, vendor setup, and compliance documentation requirements.
- Reduce purchasing backlogs while improving visibility into material availability, shortages, and supply constraints.
- Drive supplier follow-up activities and ensure timely communication regarding order status, delivery schedules, and forecasted demand.
- Assist with cost reduction, process improvement, and KPI recovery initiatives across the purchasing function.
- Manage multiple suppliers, commodities, and competing priorities in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on operational efficiency, supplier performance, and inventory optimization.
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a Buyer or similar role.
- Proven experience creating, releasing, and managing purchase orders within an ERP system.
- Demonstrated success managing past due and unconfirmed purchase orders and driving timely resolution with suppliers.
- Experience expediting materials and coordinating supplier deliveries to support business and production requirements.
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier performance management, and supply chain operations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with ERP platforms; IFS experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with in life sciences, medical devices, healthcare, biotechnology, manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of supplier onboarding processes and vendor compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting supply chain improvement initiatives, KPI recovery efforts, or operational excellence programs.
- Exposure to supplier quotations, pricing analysis, and vendor negotiations.
- Understanding of inventory management, production planning, and material requirements planning (MRP).
- Ability to identify supply chain risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong sense of urgency and ownership.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functional teams.

Pay and Benefits:
