Assistant Manager – 10606 Camino Ruiz Responsibilities
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Operate all equipment (e.g., ovens, mixers, cash registers).
- Prepare product for sale.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Deliver product by car to the customer’s door; distribute flyers and door hangers.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle available for delivery duties.
- Open availability and the ability to pass a background check.
- Orientation and training will be provided on the job.
- Strong communication skills: ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions; communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers over the phone and in person; train and lead team members.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (calculator optional). Must be able to make correct monetary change. Verbal, written, and telephone skills needed to take and process orders. Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers is required to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed. Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. Ability to maintain cost controls.
Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area, including navigating adverse terrain such as multi‑story buildings and private homes.
Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks. In‑store temperatures range from 36 °F in cooler areas to 90 °F and above in some work areas, with sudden changes in temperature inside or outside. Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust. Cramped quarters, including walk‑in cooler, and hot surfaces/tools up to 500 °F or higher.
Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts. Talking and hearing on the telephone; near and mid‑range vision required for most in‑store tasks.
Standing: most tasks performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum, with work surfaces between 36” and 48”. Walking is generally short distances for short durations. Delivery personnel travel between store, vehicle, and customer locations. Sitting: paperwork is normally completed in an office at a desk or table. Lifting: bulk product deliveries are twice a week or more and are unloaded using a hand truck;
cases may weigh up to 50 lbs. Carrying: large cans (≈3 lb 7 oz) carried from workstation to shelves; pizza sauce (≈30 lb) from storage to front; trays of dough (~12 lb per tray) carried three at a time over short distances. Driving: deliver pizzas within designated area, possibly several deliveries per shift. Pushing: moving trays on dollies requires up to 7.5 lb of force. Climbing: sometimes navigate stairs or ladders for maintenance.
Stoop/Bend: forward bending at the waist necessary at pizza assembly station; duration ~40‑45 sec repeated continuously. Crouch/Squat: performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas. Reaching: continuously up, down, and forward; above 72” to turn on/off oven controls, change sign prices, lift/lower objects. Forward bending also present at front counter when stocking ingredients. Hand tasks: eye‑hand coordination continuous throughout the shift.
