Habitability Electrician II – Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc.
Full‑time position located in San Diego, CA.
Pay RangeBase pay: $26.07 /hr – $47.79 /hr. Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
SummaryThe role provides maintenance and technical support to the customer as a subject‑matter expert on shipboard habitability‑related electrical systems and components.
Responsibilities- Provide technical support on shipboard electrical systems.
- Assess, troubleshoot, and assist ships’ force with minor repairs, adjustments, and testing on shipboard habitability systems and equipment.
- Perform functional checks, tests and analysis, fault detection, and formulate corrective actions.
- Complete assessments and maintenance actions, including repairing or replacing wiring, fixing equipment and fixtures using hand tools or power tools.
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in wiring, equipment, or fixtures using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components to locate causes of breakdowns and correct problems.
- Conduct research and provide drawings, technical manual information, design specifications, and engineering technical recommendations.
- Assist ships’ force with obtaining supply and repair parts information as required.
- Perform the necessary out‑briefs to ship's force representatives including officers and supporting personnel as well as briefs to customer management.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑repair tests or experiments, analyze results, and report findings.
- Redesign or modify equipment to improve performance and report results.

- Aqueous potassium carbonate (APC) fire‑fighting system
- Gaylord system
- Laundry equipment
- Fan coil units/assemblies
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience repairing, upgrading, and performing condition assessments, diagnostic inspections, and fault isolation on a variety of Navy shipboard electrical systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions, drawings, and conduct activities safely.
- Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance/CAC.
- Naval shipboard electrical experience.
- Requires walking, reaching, sitting, and concentration in occasional noise.
- Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, or antenna masts/yardarms onboard ships.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet).
- Operates in office, warehouse, laboratory, pier side, shipboard environments.
- Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud.
