Event Manager / Planner
Cetera is looking for a dynamic Events & Conference Manager. You'll be responsible for creating exceptional experiences for our Advisors which align with Cetera’s brand and strategy.
You'll acts as the internal client supporting or primary point of contact and project manager for assigned meetings and events virtually or in person. This role is responsible for delivering meetings and events to budget through the implementation of strategy, delivery of objectives and execution of logistics, while effectively working with other team members and key stakeholders.
You'll be responsible for coordination of all program planning, inclusive of content, while providing unparalleled levels of service on all events. Works closely with key stakeholders to understand and exceed meeting program objectives/outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Acts as project manager and/or support for all assigned meetings / events.
- Design, plan and execute events of varied complexity.
- Demonstrates consultative approach for overall event management with all stakeholders
- Completes, maintains and updates project timelines and manages overall event budgets.
- Responsible for communicating and executing all logistical requirements and needs of assigned meetings/event.
- Manages external suppliers, as applicable.
- Ability toattend site inspections and travel to in person meetings.
Maintains proactive, positive, open line of communications with team members & key stakeholders to ensure understanding of expectations.
- Work to understand the company’s objectives and assist with developing meeting content.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of program/event management and budget governance.
- Ability to thrive in an agile, continuously changing environment. Prior experience in effectively handling multiple projects/demands.
- Strong communication and consultative skills required.
- Microsoft Office tools, ability to learn new technology quickly, excellent computer skills, knowledge of virtual platforms a plus.
- Strong team player, proactive
- Adaptable: open to new ideas
- Strong organizational skills and positive attitude
Minimum Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in meeting/event planning (including incentives & corporation), financial services experience preferred.
- Prior successful experience in developing and maintaining key client relationships.
CMP designation and exposure to project planning protocols a plus
Ability to thrive in an agile, continuously changing environment.
Prior experience in effectively handling multiple projects/demands.
Professional oral presentation and writing skills required.
Travel Requirements:Approximately 35 days per year
In Office Requirements:San Diego | 2 days a week
Compensation:
The base annual salary range for this role is $75,000 - $109,000 , plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
