Job Description & How to Apply Below

Responsible for the ordering, tracking and monthly inventory of all equipment and materials plus assisting the Operations Manager at the branch.

PURCHASING FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the ordering and purchase of all materials and equipment (including rental) for all projects of the branch. Duties include the following:

  • Set up vendor credit accounts with various suppliers. Obtain necessary documentation from Office Manager for submitting to suppliers.
  • Get approval from Operations Manager before any purchase.
  • Provide purchase orders for all purchases. Ensure that copy of purchase order is compared to the delivery list to ensure proper delivery.
  • Check on all pricing of each order.
  • Ensure that the warehouse is adequately stocked at all times.
  • Periodically check prices for similar items among the vendors. Work with vendor agents to ensure we are getting the best pricing possible.
  • Profit maximize – Coordinate material and equipment purchases/rentals for maximum efficiency and lowest overall cost. (Example:
If one rental yard charges $100.00 more for a scissor lift, but can deliver it 2 hours earlier than all the competition and prevents the stand‑by time of a three man crew, is it worth using the higher priced rental yard?)
INVENTORY FUNCTIONS

Responsible for accurate tracking and charging of all materials and equipment for all jobs. Duties include the following:

  • Label/engrave all equipment. Form a master list of all equipment.
  • Track all equipment from warehouse to job sites and back. Ensure that we know where all company equipment is located at all times.
  • Track all materials at jobsites and what has been returned. Ensure that all materials are correctly charged to the appropriate jobs.
  • Maintain a log of all rental equipment.
  • Perform a monthly inventory of all materials in shop. Compare to materials used on jobs and finalize the inventory in the company’s accounting software package. This must be completed by the seventh of the month (for the preceding month).
  • Profit maximize – Coordinate material and equipment purchases/rentals for maximum efficiency and lowest overall cost. (Example:
Does it make sense to purchase a six month supply of poly sheeting at 20% discount, taking into account warehouse space and the normal fluctuations of poly prices?)
  • Ensure that the warehouse is kept in a neat and orderly fashion at all times.
  • OPERATIONS ASSISTANCE FUNCTIONS

Responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in the production and completion of any/all projects. Duties include the following:

  • Load up trucks with equipment and materials for job site delivery.
  • Drive truck(s) to deliver and/or pick up equipment, supplies and waste.
  • Break down containments and demobilize job sites when necessary.
  • Supervise projects when necessary.

  • Understand and fill out manifests.
  • Fill out truck logs when driving trucks.
  • Assist with maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Promote safety to all workers.
  • Fill out daily time sheet and accurately charge time to the appropriate projects.
  • Ensure that all waste from jobs is handled correctly and in a timely manner.
