Field Service Manager

Job Description

As a Field Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high‑quality customer relationships through daily communication and proactive engagement with clients. You will manage and support field technicians, ensuring they have the necessary resources, direction, and hands‑on technical guidance to successfully complete their work. This role requires a manager with prior field experience who can actively train technicians, assist with troubleshooting, and provide real‑time coaching on job tasks when needed.

You will also be responsible for meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) and covering a wide range of territories.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and support field technicians, providing necessary resources and guidance.
  • Engage in daily communication and proactive client interactions to maintain customer relationships.
  • Train technicians and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
  • Provide real‑time coaching on job tasks.
  • Meet KPIs and cover a wide range of territories.
Essential Skills
  • 5–8 years of trade management or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience managing teams of 10 or more.
  • Strong understanding of construction and maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, framing, drywall, tile, cabinetry, and general finish work.
  • Ability to understand technical scopes of work and support technicians and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of commercial building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction estimating software.

  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Client and vendor relationship experience.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, HR principles, accounting basics, and administrative procedures.
  • Strong technical knowledge in trades including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.

Work

Environment

The work environment is dynamic, with a mix of office and field work. You will spend approximately 60% of your time in the office and 40% in the field, although this may vary. You will manage and coordinate up to 10 employees, and will be mobile at times, provided with a van for travel.

This is a Permanent position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
