Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

San Diego, CA (South Bay)

120-140k +

Job Summary:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will create manufacturing instructions for aircraft components and assemblies, manage projects to meet contract requirements, and provide technical support and guidance. The role involves working with composite and metal materials, using ERP and CAD systems, and ensuring quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

Job Functions:
  • Create manufacturing instructions for fabrication, machining, inspection, assembly, and painting of components.
  • FPQ and composite/bonding experience.
  • Construct Item Masters and Bills of Materials in ERP software.
  • Develop IPD and XOP drawings.
  • Generate instructions for rework or repair of materials.
  • Provide engineering clarification and interpretation.
  • Implement redlines to manufacturing plans.
  • Develop technical solutions for composite and metal bond processing.
  • Generate CAD geometry for CAM programming and tooling.
  • Coordinate Non-Destructive Test plans.
  • Lead First Part Qualification activities.
  • Provide technical guidance for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and train less experienced engineers.
Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience with Boeing manufacturing specifications for aircraft components, specifically composites and metal bonding.
  • Demonstrated FPQ experience.
  • Experience conducting processor qualification activities with Boeing or other OEMs.
  • ERP experience (SAP or Net Suite preferred).
  • Experience with CATIA V or Solid Works CAD/PLM systems.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience leading First Part Qualifications.
  • Composite and metal bonding experience.
  • Experience with BAC; 5514, 5317, 5331, 5578.
