Insulator Improver – Ship Repair Team, San Diego

At BAE Systems, our skilled trade teams deliver life‑saving products to the U.S. military. As an Insulator Improver you will grow in a supportive team while honing your skills across all insulating phases.

• Install and remove insulation on ship components, including bulkheads, overheads, piping systems and machinery.
• Measure, cut, and fabricate insulation materials to reduce heat loss, prevent moisture condensation, and deaden sound.
• Perform related tasks as assigned.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 3+ years of insulation work on military or commercial vessels.
• Ability to read and comprehend specifications and drawings.
• Knowledge of piping systems and layout patterns.

• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions.
• Maintain job site cleanliness.

Full‑Time Salary Range: $50,565 – $55,744
