Mechanical Assembler - Sorrento Valley - 1st Shift
The role of a Mechanical Assembler encompasses a blend of assembly, quality inspection, and testing. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be tasked with assembling subassemblies by following specific work instructions via a manufacturing execution system. You will connect wires and harnesses to modules and PCBA’s using hand tools. Upon completing assembly tasks, you will conduct firmware installation and perform functional testing to ensure all components operate correctly.
You are also responsible for documenting the manufacturing process in an electronic device history record and troubleshooting any errors.
- Assemble subassemblies by following detailed work instructions.
- Utilize the manufacturing execution system to track tasks and progress.
- Connect wires and harnesses to modules and PCBA’s using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and wire strippers.
- Install firmware on PCBA and conduct functional testing.
- Document all manufacturing processes in the electronic device history record.
- Troubleshoot and resolve errors during testing phases.
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly and use of hand and power tools.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to navigate software like Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with testing and troubleshooting using tools like oscilloscopes.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions without deviation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience with electro‑mechanical sub‑assembly.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Experience in wiring, wire harness assembly, and repair.

Work EnvironmentWork in an ESD environment wearing lab coats and safety glasses. Participate in daily 7 AM stand‑up meetings where tasks are assigned. Initially, you will train alongside a senior technician and transition to other areas after three months. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with comprehensive training and guidance provided.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
