Value Stream Planner III

Location:

Job Summary

The Value Stream Planner III will coordinate and expedite production in a high volume, fast‑paced biotech company, ensuring products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Essential Functions
  • Create production orders and follow up on time delivery to meet material requirements.
  • Audit system stocking messages (ABC Codes, safety stock, reorder points, reorder quantities, forecast demand signals).
  • Prioritize and expedite production orders.
  • Review and schedule product replenishments to meet the master production schedule and satisfy manufacturing targets.
  • Perform strategic inventory calculations to optimize production capacity and inventory levels.
  • Review and manage assigned lab(s) production schedule/plan for demand, capacity, and material availability.
  • Mentor and provide guidance for planning team members.
  • Monitor inventory levels in ERP system and ensure products are stocked and updated.
  • Review ERP reorder messages and MRP suggestions and take appropriate actions.
  • Communicate responses to departments regarding emails, ETA requests, scheduling, work orders.
  • Recommend materials for disposition based on sell‑by and expiration dates.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional production schedule across departments and divisions.
  • Create and release work orders based on demand, material availability, and work center capacity.
  • Report and coordinate with Production, QC, Customer Service, and Procurement groups.
  • Optimize material stocking levels for sell‑by and expiration dates to minimize obsolescence.
  • Determine MRP system settings to support product inventory targets.
  • Propose alternate activities to resolve production issues and bottlenecks.
  • Analyze, update, and maintain complex spreadsheets; generate reports and metrics.
  • Create and maintain documentation (SOPs, forms, checklists).
  • Ensure compliance with company and department policies and procedures.
  • Create, maintain, and analyze KPI metrics for planning and manufacturing analysis.
  • Track KPI metrics for reporting to the planning team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Manage special projects or responsibilities as required.

Basic Qualifications
  • BA or HS diploma and 9 years’ work experience in Business Administration, Science, Operations Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 5 years of production planning experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
  • Experience handling multiple product lines with high volume and high SKU mix.
  • Ability to multi‑task and manage high‑volume workload.
  • Experience managing products with expiration dating.
  • Familiarity with ISO or GMP compliance requirements.
  • Experience in life science, biotechnology, or process manufacturing industry.
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma, JIT, Kanban concepts.
  • 3 years in ISO
    13485 environment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Primarily an office setting with occasional exposure to laboratory and warehouse environments. Duties require use of hands, standing, talking, hearing, and reaching with arms.

Pay Range

Salary: $90,000.00 – $ USD annually.
