Press Brake Operator SupervisorDepartment: Fabrication / Press Brake
Reports To: Operations Manager / Production Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt or Exempt (based on classification)
Position SummaryThe Press Brake Operator Supervisor oversees daily operations of the press brake department, ensuring accurate setups, safe operation, and efficient production flow. This role leads a team of press brake operators, coordinates work orders, maintains quality standards, and ensures proper documentation and machine setup—especially on AMADA press brakes and tooling systems

- Supervise, train, and support press brake operators in daily tasks and production expectations.
- Assign jobs based on skill level, tooling requirements, and production priorities.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action when needed.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
- Perform and oversee AMADA press brake setups
, including tooling selection, alignment, and program adjustments. - Verify correct bend sequences, tooling offsets, and machine parameters before production begins.
- Troubleshoot forming issues, machine errors, and tooling problems.
- Ensure operators follow proper setup sheets, bend deductions, and quality requirements.
- Plan and organize daily fabrication activities to meet production deadlines.
- Review work orders, drawings, and routings to ensure accurate part formation.
- Coordinate with Laser, Assembly, QC, and Shipping to maintain smooth workflow.
- Identify bottlenecks and adjust staffing or processes to maintain efficiency.
- Ensure all formed parts meet dimensional, cosmetic, and customer specifications.
- Work closely with QC to resolve nonconformances and rework.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit‑ready work area.
- Ensure operators update completions, scrap, quantities, and routing steps in real time.
- Review work order accuracy and correct discrepancies before moving parts forward.
- Track daily production output and report issues to management.
- Enforce all company safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe machine operation practices.
- Conduct daily safety checks and report hazards immediately.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Recommend improvements to tooling, setup methods, and workflow efficiency.
- Support cross‑training and skill development within the department.
- Assist in implementing new procedures, tooling, or equipment upgrades.
- 3-5 years of press brake operation experience,
including AMADA press brake setup
. - 1+ year of leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, bend allowances, and forming principles.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, flat patterns, and bend diagrams.
- Experience with MIE Track or similar ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
