Zenix Aerospace Jet Products uses its own near net shape starting blanks with sizes ranging from 2″ to 180″ diameter. Applications include turbine engine parts, nacelle mounting and attach rings, and duct fittings. Produces complex machined rings and ring components in titanium, nickel, cobalt, stainless and aluminum alloys. Major markets for current production are airframe structural rings and assemblies, including the nacelle and thrust reverser, and a variety of rings and cases for turbine engines.
WhatDoes the Job Involve?
The Ring Fabricator III is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to machinery that bends and expands metal structural shapes, such as bars, strips and rods to specified contour. May assist in/or perform other processes of ring fabrication.
What Will My Responsibilities Include?- Sets up, operates, and tends the operation of machine that heats and bends metal structural shapes, such as bars, strips and rods to a specified contour.
- Adjusts and calculates machine set up from written work instructions to account for material thickness, bends radius and corrects circumference.
- Examines, inspects, and measures materials and finished products to verify conformance with written specifications.
- Monitors machine operation and temperature to detect malfunctions and ensure product conforms to written specifications.
- Feeds metal material through rolling mechanisms or start, control, and monitor feeding mechanism.
- Monitors and manipulates controls to adjust and regulate machine and speed mechanism.
- Utilizes all personal protective equipment and ensures all machine safety equipment is in use prior to machine operation.
- Performs three or more operation methods involving ring fabrication; including but not limited to, rounding, grinding, forming, heat treating, expanding and/or flash welding.
- Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, works overtime when necessary, follows directions from a supervisor, interacts well with co-workers, understands and follows work rules and procedures, works safely, complies with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accepts constructive feedback, establishes goals and objectives and exhibits initiative and commitment.
- Identifies methods to optimize resource utilization of time, materials, and equipment to ensure production goals are met on an ongoing basis.
- Evaluates the metal heat-treating and fabrication processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall quality. Identifies areas for improvement and aids in implementing changes to maximize production effectiveness.
