We’re looking for a detail-oriented Deburr & Finish Technician to prepare precision-machined components for inspection, assembly, and shipment. Previous manufacturing experience is welcomed, but we’re also willing to train candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a desire to build a career in manufacturing.
Put the Finishing Touch on Precision ManufacturingAs a Deburr & Finish Technician, you’ll remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from machined components without altering critical dimensions or part features.
Depending on your experience and training, you may perform deburring, sanding, blasting, finishing, and visual inspection activities using a variety of hand tools and finishing equipment.
What the Job Looks Like- You carefully remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from precision-machined components.
- You use hand tools, sanding equipment, and blasting equipment to achieve the required finish.
- You visually inspect completed work to confirm that parts meet established quality standards.
- You handle finished components carefully and move them to Quality Control, Assembly, or Shipping.
- You record labor time, quantities, and production information accurately in Epicor.
- You identify and report product discrepancies, equipment problems, or safety concerns before they create larger issues.
- You maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Deburr, sand, blast, and finish machined parts according to work instructions, production requirements, and company procedures.
- Remove burrs and surface imperfections without altering required dimensions, edges, threads, or other part features.
- Use approved hand tools, finishing equipment, and blasting equipment safely and correctly.
- Load and unload parts from blasting equipment based on training and assigned responsibilities.
- Perform visual inspections of completed work for defects, damage, completeness, and finish quality.
- Follow verbal instructions, written work instructions, travelers, and established production procedures.
- Move completed products between workstations and into Quality Control, Assembly, or Shipping areas.
- Accurately record labor time, quantities, and other required production information in Epicor or applicable systems.
- Recognize and report quality discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns.
- Follow all applicable safety, quality, PPE, and production requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Support other production areas as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, consistent work.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use common hand tools.
- The ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
- The patience and focus required to perform detailed finishing work without damaging part features.
- The ability to recognize and report visible product or finishing discrepancies.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn Epicor or similar production software.
- A commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and maintaining an organized work environment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may also be considered.
