Job Overview:

Join our dynamic marketing team as a Brand Manager at Qualcomm, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping, evolving, and managing brand identity. This position requires a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment and is committed to achieving brand excellence across all company touchpoints.

Brand strategy:
  • Support data-informed brand identity transformations through conducting comprehensive market research, audits, and competitive analysis, while collaborating closely with creative teams and external agencies.
  • Guide internal teams in the development of names for new products and programs, ensuring alignment with Qualcomm’s overall brand architecture and naming strategy.
Brand management and development:
  • Oversee foundational brand asset development process from creative briefing, stakeholder management, project management to approvals and communications.
  • Manage project budgets and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Partner with agencies and in-house teams to drive creative excellence and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop project plans that ensure critical milestones are met efficiently without sacrificing quality.
  • Ensure brand guidelines stay current and reflect brand changes.
  • Manage and lead brand trainings, presenting guidance to cross-functional teams and agencies.
Brand Governance:
  • Champion brand consistency, working collaboratively with functional teams ensuring that marketing materials adhere to the brand guidelines, globally.
  • Provide brand guidance and strategic support to all internal teams and agencies, fostering a strong brand advocacy culture within the organization.
  • Share regular brand updates with internal team members and agencies through newsletters and trainings.

This is a highly collaborative position and requires the ability to communicate openly and respectfully, with individuals inside and across other teams. This candidate will need both flexibility and focus to respond to priorities across a diverse set of audiences.

This is an office based position located in San Diego, CA.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 5+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 10+ years of experience in Brand or Marketing related fields.
  • Strong understanding of brand value and brand concepts including principles, positioning architecture, naming, identity and governance and experience implementing them in a dynamic and global company.
  • Ability to identify whether creative is meeting brand standards and guidelines.
  • Strategic and analytic thinker with the ability to bring new ideas to the table.
  • Professional presence and ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply research findings to inform recommendations.
  • Ability to execute and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational abilities and experience in managing creative agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of creative development process from briefing to file types.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening
