Feeding San Diego is a non‑profit organization on a mission to connect every person facing hunger with nutritious meals by maximizing food rescue. Established in 2007, Feeding San Diego rescues surplus food from local and national food donors before it goes to waste and gets it to people facing hunger in San Diego County. It is the only Feeding America partner food bank in the region.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Senior Manager, Donor Services & Insights plays a critical role on the development team at Feeding San Diego. This position oversees donor services, including Salesforce administration and configuration, annual fund initiatives, gift entry and finance reconciliation, acknowledgments and stewardship, development reporting, portfolio management, and prospect research.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the organization’s CRM database, Salesforce, including data integrity, accuracy of records, process improvement, data analysis, donor research, and staff training.
  • Manage gift entry, finance reconciliation, and acknowledgment processes to ensure timely and accurate stewardship of Feeding San Diego donors.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to retain, grow, and upgrade annual fund donors.
  • Facilitate a robust relationship management system to cultivate relationships with current donors and new prospects, using best practices in fundraising techniques.
  • Provide insights and high‑level examinations of frontline fundraising portfolios, including portfolio health, meaningful activities, and opportunity progress.
  • Support frontline fundraising positions and executive leadership with their major donor portfolios, including oversight of report preparation and prospect research.
  • Manage all vendor contracts and negotiations for the Development Department. Track all invoices and communicate between the approver and Accounts Payable.
  • Support in pipeline management in the current fiscal year and budgeting for future fiscal years.
  • Lead special projects as assigned, leveraging strong communication and project management skills.
  • Design and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to provide actionable insights for the Senior Director of Development and guide donor engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop fundraising strategies and execute annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, Feed 365 (monthly donors), workplace giving, peer‑to‑peer fund drives, online campaigns, and more.
  • Supervise the Assistant Manager, Donor Services and Annual Fund & Stewardship Coordinator, and assist in the entry of donor data as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Development.
Interaction

The Senior Manager, Donor Services & Insights interacts closely with development, marketing and communications, programs, operations, and administrative staff, and provides information to staff, donors, prospects, neighbors, volunteers, FSD board and staff, and others from the community.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, marketing, or a closely related field, along with at least three years of professional experience in nonprofit operations and one year of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated track record in overseeing the accuracy and integrity of donor data to support financial goals.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience with CRMs or donor management database systems (Salesforce highly preferred)
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a CRM/donor database
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to develop and sustain professional and positive relationships with donors and volunteers
  • Strong writing, communication, and project management
