ResponsibilitiesProvide autonomous nursing care in the Perioperative Services environment, assessing patient needs and performing nursing actions appropriate to the patient population. Practice autonomously within ANA and AORN Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, exercising independent judgment within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary care contexts. This posting notes three open RN positions (two Day shifts, one Evening shift). Schedule details will be discussed with candidates during the application process.
- Demonstrate clinical competence in the operating room as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain professional practice aligned with Magnet standards and organizational expectations.
- Adhere to the center’s policies regarding working hours, on-call requirements, and location flexibility.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- RN license issued by the State of California.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire date.
- Two (2+) or more years of RN Operating Room experience in an acute care hospital.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to staff and patients.
- BSN.
- Experience scrubbing a variety of complex cases.
- CNOR.
- Ability to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the Medical Center’s needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 - $193,892 (prorated if appointment percentage < 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $66.25 - $92.86
Compensation factors include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business needs. The posted hiring pay scale represents the budgeted range the University expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader based on internal equity, budget, and bargaining agreements.
