DESCRIPTION

This Infusion RN position requires excellent written/verbal communication and critical thinking skills in the delivery of oncology and non-oncology infusion therapy and related services (clinical trials, labs, dressing changes, injections and so forth). The Infusion RN gives chemotherapy, biotherapy, clinical trials infusion and other infusion-related services as well as blood work, dressing change, injections in a fast‑paced outpatient infusion center setting.

This position will receive training in clinical trials.

Using the nursing process, the Infusion RN ensures patient safety, symptom management and patient/family education in a fast‑paced outpatient infusion center. The Infusion RN must proactively anticipate and respond to urgent medical emergencies. Commitment to teamwork and engagement are also vital to this role to sustain our commitment to a healthy work environment.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Current California RN license.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (within the last 6 months).
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent (within the last 6 months) oncology infusion center or acute care oncology experience.
  • Must have proven independent thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritizing skills.
  • Must be able to function in a fast‑paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN.
  • Recent infusion center experience.
  • Clinical Trials Infusion experience.
  • OCN certification.
