The Nurse Practitioner (NP) at the Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders (CBCD) will specialize in caring for adults with hemophilia and other bleeding and clotting disorders. This individual will be part of our comprehensive care team supporting clinical operations and the Center's 30% volume growth. Responsibilities will include routine follow‑up appointments for an up‑to‑date assessment, education and training in self‑care and health management.
This position will also be involved in educating patients, family members, and health care professionals in the community about bleeding and clotting disorders.
Assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse NP is expected to practice consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. The major emphasis at this level is ongoing direct patient care delivery.
Assignments at this level primarily encompass management of patients who present chronic and/or episodic health problems. Assignments at this level may include responsibility for occasional community teaching programs, participation in program planning, and development of patient and staff education information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Must be a graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) license, California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license, and Furnishing License Certification.
- Current NP Specialty Certification from one of the following Nursing Boards: AANP, ANCC, NCC, PNCB, AACN.
- BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Current CITI Certification, or must obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent ambulatory care experience as a licensed Nurse Practitioner, with experience in supporting clinic efficiency, optimizing scheduling flow, and managing patient volumes.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately with diverse patient populations, healthcare professionals, and community stakeholders.
- Ability to provide clear, comprehensive education to patients and families regarding disease process, treatment plans, and self‑management.
- Demonstrates advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to assess, manage, and evaluate complex bleeding and clotting disorders in an outpatient setting.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary care.
