Pharmacist (Per Diem)

Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for a pharmacist to provide expert advice to patients in consultation with physicians in filling prescriptions related to patients' treatment plans. Play an active role in recommending medications and overseeing the administration of those medications.

Responsibilities:

• Consult with physicians in filling prescriptions for patients being treated.
• Consult with physicians and patients about appropriate over-the-counter medications for common ailments.
• Review physician orders and prepare medications accordingly.
• Monitor patients' drug therapies. Assist in managing the delivery of a complex set of medications.
• Ensure medications, and compound pharmaceuticals are properly dispensed.
• Instruct patients on how and when to take prescribed medicine to include information on side effects that may be experienced from taking the medication.
• Manage side effects and reactions related to drug interactions for patients taking multiple medications.
• May provide advice on healthy topics, i.e. diet, exercise, and managing the symptoms of living life.
• Ensure all federal and state drug laws are followed, to include maintaining records of all controlled substances and informing management of any changes that may be needed for compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm,
  
  D) required.
• Current and active license issued by the State of California required.
• Traveling between sites and other locations is occasionally required. Must have a valid California driver's license, an automobile, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended. An acceptable driving record is also required. California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver's license within ten days of establishing residency.
