RN - General Surgery & Medical Acute - La Jolla - Nights

Position

Full‑time (72 hours per pay period, every 2 weeks) on a 12‑hour night shift schedule working variable days, including weekends and holidays.

Location: Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

Monitor and recognize patient vital signs, symptoms, telemetry readings and EKG for abnormal heart rhythms or changes such as Afib, heart blocks, vtach/fib.

Collaborate and establish trust with surgeons, physician assistants, cardiologists, general medical practitioners, family nurse practitioners, charge nurses, nurse assistants and other care team members to achieve optimum patient care.

• Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
• One (1) year of recent RN experience
• California Registered Nurse License
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• One (1) year RN experience in acute Med/Surg
• Experience with EPIC EHR

The position is eligible for a New Hire Retention Incentive up to $7,000.

The following are not eligible for hiring incentives:

• Internal candidates
• Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago

To remain eligible for the retention incentive, the following criteria must be met:

• Remain in original hired FTE status and shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Remain in original department/specialty
• Remain in original job title
• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in the offer letter
