140140 (RN) Registered Nurse-Per Diem - Cardiac Prep & Rec

UC San Diego Health, a Magnet designated organization, seeks a Registered Nurse for the 22‑bed Procedural Treatment Unit (PTU) at the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center. The role includes providing skilled nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac and surgical procedures, implementing nursing interventions, and serving as a resource to other team members. The nurse will also participate in a float pool to ICU or IMU within the UCSD System.

• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire, with commitment to obtain ART within six months.
• At least two years of recent RN ICU experience.
• At least one year of recent PACU experience.
• Recent cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedure/surgical experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team environment.

• BSN degree.
• Additional PACU experience.
• Cath and EP lab experience.
• CCRN and/or ASPAN certification.

• Employment subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
• Position involves rotating day/night 12‑hour shifts; weekend requirement of two scheduled Saturdays per month.
• Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on‑call, and locations based on the 24‑hour Medical Center's business needs.

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer will be required to disclose any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years indicating misconduct or filed appeals of such findings.

Annual Full Pay Range: $190,342 – $190,342 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Hourly Equivalent: $91.16 – $91.16.
