Description

The following position is for employment with:
Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, 306 Walnut Ave #26, San Diego, CA 92103. We are a fast-paced, high-volume oral and maxillofacial surgery practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a safe, professional, and compassionate environment. We are seeking an experienced Part-time Registered Nurse to support our surgical team.

Position Summary

The part-time RN will assist with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care in an outpatient oral surgery setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent patient communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-operative patient assessments, including medical history review and vital signs on adolescent and adult patients
  • Start IVs, medication administration, and patient monitoring including airway management during procedures
  • Monitor patients in recovery and provide post-operative care and discharge instructions
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and recognize signs of distress or complications
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient charts
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with oral surgeons, surgical assistants, and front office staff
  • Provide exceptional patient care with professionalism and compassion
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience (oral surgery, outpatient surgery, PACU, ICU, or ER experience preferred)
  • Current BLS certification (ACLS/PALS preferred or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong IV skills required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
Schedule
  • 3-4 days a week
  • Hours may vary based on office needs (weekday coverage); no weekends
