Position: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical Nurse)
Naval Medical Center San Diego – San Diego, CACompass Government Solutions is currently recruiting qualified Medical Surgical Registered Nurses to provide inpatient nursing support services at Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, California. This position supports inpatient medical-surgical patient care and clinical operations in a military medical center environment.

Work Schedule Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600–1800. Shifts will normally be scheduled for 8.5, 9.5, or 10.5-hour periods, to include an uncompensated 60-minute lunch break, respectively.

Job Duties:

Operate in the Charge Nurse role when required

Coordinate patient care in collaboration with healthcare professionals

Facilitate optimal clinical outcomes related to patient care, quality, and cost effectiveness

Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with MTF policies, procedures, and guidelines

Perform physical examinations and obtain health histories

Provide health promotion, counseling, and patient education

Administer medications, wound care, and other nursing interventions

Collaborate with and provide clinical guidance to healthcare team members

Make patient care assignments based on scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel

Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and respond appropriately in emergency situations

Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families regarding treatment plans and patient care

Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate

Perform nursing services identified within the Task Order Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes

Degree

Associate Degree in Nursing required

Education

Graduate from a college or university accredited by:

Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
Experience Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years as a Registered Nurse Licensure Current , active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any U.S. jurisdiction

Citizenship / Security:

U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to access requirements for U.S. Government computer systems and networks.
