Duties
Review and interpret patient assessments and admission data to formulate a comprehensive plan of care.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary health team to develop and provide comprehensive nursing care plans for patients.
Operate equipment used in patient care such as vital sign machine and oxygen equipment.
Participate in patient care rounds initially and throughout the shift to ascertain problem areas, changes in level of acuity, and changes in patient needs.
Provide oversight and coordination for the inpatient mental health nursing team.
Coordinate daily staff assignments as Charge Nurse, including the supervision of active-duty personnel, managing daily schedules, providing input to supervisors for leave management, and balancing workloads to meet the unit's dynamic needs.
Assess learning needs and provide teaching for patients and significant others during hospitalization to ensure transfer or discharge objectives are achieved.
Operate an automated data system utilized to document patient care while ensuring accuracy is performed by all health care workers involved to ensure proper information is documented.
