Pain Management Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant (NP/PA)
Location:
San Diego, CA
Setting:
Outpatient Clinic
Term: 12 months assignment with a potential for extension
Shift
Schedule:
Full or Part Time
Pay Rate: $90/hr

Qualifications of Pain Management Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA):
- Active California NP or PA license
- Active DEA registration or ability to obtain
- Current BLS/ACLS certification
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred (pain management, orthopedics, neurology, anesthesia, or related field)
- Experience with EHR systems; eClinical
Works or Epic preferred - Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Experience with chronic pain management, opioid agreements, and CURES/PDMP monitoring preferred
Duties/Responsibilities of Pain Management Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA):
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including history, physical exams, and review of diagnostic studies
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Prescribe and manage medications, including opioid and non-opioid therapies, in compliance with California regulations and CURES requirements
- Assist with or perform interventional procedures such as trigger point injections and joint injections (training available)
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and studies including X-ray, MRI, CT, and EMG/NCS
- Monitor patient progress and document care within the electronic health record (eClinicalWorks)
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care including referrals to physical therapy, behavioral health, and specialty care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and self-management strategies
- Participate in case conferences, quality initiatives, and continuing education
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and clinical guidelines
