DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Senior Nursing Aid supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living. Performs uncomplicated technical procedures, participates in performance improvement activities such as chart audits, and utilizes a variety of technical equipment and supplies. Provides patient transport, specimen and blood product transport, and inventory management.
Cross‑trains in the role of Hospital Unit Secretary. Requires initiative, ability to prioritize demands, and teamwork. Participates in a collaborative team environment, including training and evaluating peers, scheduling work, and assisting with administrative functions. The unit is a 26‑bed acute care progressive care unit with an average 1:3 nurse‑to‑patient ratio and a patient population of high‑acuity adult medical and cardiac patients.
- Active California CNA license.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months.
- One (1+) or more years of CNA experience in an inpatient acute care setting.
- Proven ability to observe deviations from normal.
- PCU/IMU/Step‑down experience.
- Experience with Epic, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems.
- Medical terminology training and/or certificate.
- Bilingual:
Spanish/English.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
Annual Full Pay Range: $52,242 - $64,979 (prorated for portions of the appointment percentage). Hourly equivalent: $25.02 - $31.12.
