Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned department, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment.
Other related duties as assigned.
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.
- Two years minimum years LVN experience for a Sr. level.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Recent experience in a similar role and setting.
- Family Practice Experience.
- OB / Women's Health Experience.
- Pediatrics Experience.
- Procedures & Instrument Sterilization Preparation Process Experience.
- Experience with Point of Care Testing.
- Medication / Vaccine administration Experience.
- UCSD system knowledge.
- Must be able to work flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, if necessary, for unexpected staffing issues.
- Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Annual Full Pay Range: $67,756 - $84,209 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $32.45 - $40.33
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
