The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will have a psychiatric specialty providing integrated mental health and primary care services within a concierge medical practice. This role will ideally combine advanced clinical expertise in psychiatry with comprehensive primary care responsibilities, ensuring patients receive holistic, personalized, and proactive healthcare. Candidates with only the primary care expertise should respond to this posting as well. The NP works collaboratively with physicians and the care team to deliver exceptional outcomes and a premium patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Psychiatric Evaluation & Treatment — Conduct mental health assessments, diagnose psychiatric conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Medication Management — Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, adjusting regimens based on patient response and safety.
- Therapeutic Interventions — Provide counseling, psychoeducation, and supportive therapy within scope of practice.
- Primary Care Services — Deliver routine physical exams, preventive screenings, chronic disease management, and acute care visits.
- Integrated Care — Coordinate psychiatric and medical care to address both physical and mental health needs.
- Aesthetic and Weight Management — Understand the options available at Essenza and develop treatment plans appropriate for or as requested by the patient. Perform any and all procedures upon completion of certifications.
- Patient Communication — Maintain compassionate, clear communication through in‑person visits, telemedicine, and secure messaging.
- Care Coordination — Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, specialists, and primary care providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Clinical Documentation — Record accurate, timely notes in the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinic standards.
- Patient Experience Enhancement — Uphold the concierge model by offering personalized attention, proactive follow‑up, and premium service.
- Quality & Compliance — Adhere to state and federal regulations, infection‑control protocols, and clinic policies.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Practitioner Studies from an accredited program.
- Board Certification in psychiatric‑mental health (PMHNP) and/or family practice.
- Active California NP License in good standing.
- Minimum 2–4 years of clinical experience in psychiatry and/or primary care.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and integrated care workflows.
- Strong interpersonal, diagnostic, and therapeutic communication skills.
- Commitment to patient‑centered, concierge‑level service delivery.
- Clinical Judgment in psychiatric and primary care settings.
- Holistic Patient Care integrating mental and physical health.
- Critical Thinking and evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Cultural Competency and sensitivity in diverse patient populations.
- Team Collaboration across multidisciplinary care teams.
- Ability to conduct patient visits in both office and telehealth settings.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform clinical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
- Occasional extended hours based on patient needs.
