This role involves caring for diabetic obstetric patients, providing autonomous nursing care per ANA Standards of Practice, and exercising independent judgment within interdisciplinary patient care teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- RN License issued by the State of California.
- BART or BLS certification at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six months.
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification (AWHONN).
- Limited OB Ultrasound Certification or commitment to achieve within six months.
- Current experience in a fast‑paced Women’s Clinic with high‑risk OB/GYN, diabetic OB, gender health, viral OB, contraception procedures such as colposcopy, leeps, paps, and EMBs.
- Demonstrated kindness, empathy, compassion, and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Consistent ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple providers and procedures, with knowledge of OB/GYN and related patient care.
- Highly skilled with Smith Thompson protocols, Epic in‑baskets, and Epic charting for ambulatory care.
- Flexible, detail oriented, a team player and eager to learn.
- Experience monitoring diabetic OB patients, diabetes education, triage, insulin pump and dosing, and continuous glucose monitoring.
- Experience performing NSTs in an ambulatory, fast‑paced setting.
- Ability to obtain ultrasound certification within six months.
- Adaptable to both WHS and HCOB clinic workflows.
- Empathy for patients with mental illness, unhoused patients, and other barriers to care.
- Adherence to regulations and UCSD standards with a desire to improve clinic processes and outcomes.
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills for complex cases.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and kindness toward staff and patients.
- Effective communication and influence skills with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents.
- BSN degree.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
- Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
- Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 – $193,892 (pro-rated if appointment %
