The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will assess and provide actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The NP is expected to practice consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. The NP is responsible for providing comprehensive health assessment of patients receiving radiation oncology services. The NP will conduct in-depth medical histories, perform initial and periodic physical examinations, review imaging, assess and manage patient care, and conduct appropriate follow‑up in collaboration with the attending physician.

The NP will be involved in collaborative multidisciplinary care. Assignments at this level primarily encompass management of patients who present chronic and/or episodic health problems. Assignments at this level may include responsibility for occasional community teaching programs, participation in program planning, and development of patient education information.

• Must be a graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• California Registered Nurse (RN) license, California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license, and California NP Furnishing License Certification.
• Current Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certification (AGACNP or ACNP).
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
• A minimum of one (1) year recent work experience as Nurse Practitioner in Oncology.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the medical as well as psychosocial needs of a patient population with cancer.
• A high level of professionalism and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Excellent assessment skills and ability to make clinically sound decisions in a fast paced constantly changing environment.
