Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level 4 NICU setting, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes and family support. Responsible for delivering advanced patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Administer comprehensive neonatal nursing care, including mechanical ventilation, line management, and post-operative monitoring.
- Perform line changes, line maintenance, and manage multiple drips for complex neonatal patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist in procedures such as PICC line placement, trach care, and ostomy management.
- Float seamlessly between NICU, PICU, CVICU, and satellite units as needed, maintaining high standards of care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, ensure proper documentation in Epic, and comply with all licensing and certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid California RN license or an ETA for license posting; active license required prior to start.
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a Level 4 NICU, preferably with surgical capabilities.
- Extensive experience with neonatal ventilators, line management, and specialized gases.
- Certified in BLS, with advanced certifications such as NRP and PALS preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to float across units and respond flexibly to changing patient needs.
- Strong clinical skills in line care, post-op management, and complex neonatal procedures.
