Registered Nurse PICU

Job Summary:

Seeking experienced PICU RNs for an intensive care unit specializing in high-acuity pediatric care. The role involves providing critical nursing functions for children with complex conditions, including respiratory failure, shock, and post-operative cardiac needs.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, independent nursing care to pediatric patients in a PICU setting.
• Monitor and operate ventilators, CVP, and EKG equipment to assess patient status.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety at all times.
• Document patient progress accurately using Epic electronic charting.
• Float between PICU and NICU units as needed within scope of practice.

Qualifications:

• Valid California RN license or an ETA for licensure posting.
• Minimum of 2 years recent PICU experience within the last year, with at least 10 beds.
• BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage ventilators, monitors, and advanced pediatric critical care equipment.
• Flexible to work variable shifts, including 3x12 night or day shifts weekly.
• Willingness to work 2 of 3 major holidays with full flexibility.
