Are you a compassionate leader ready to make an impact in a dynamic specialty setting? We’re looking for a dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager to join our Gastroenterology team, where you'll play a vital role in both clinical care and administrative leadership.

In this position, you will supervise a skilled team of Registered Nurses and Endoscopy Technicians, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient daily operations. This role offers a balanced blend of hands-on clinical responsibilities and administrative oversight, providing opportunities to mentor staff, support process improvement, and contribute to departmental excellence.

The Assistant Nurse Manager is involved in ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and/or provision of patient care delivery in assigned nursing area(s). Promotes environment for a shared voice in nursing practice and exchange of ideas to continually improve nursing and patient care outcomes. Accountable for the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of patient care. Consults and collaborates with other health care professionals to coordinate the management of patient care.

Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others.

Supervises staff involved in providing clinical patient care. Assists in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. May assume full responsibility for the unit in delegated areas and in the absence of the manager.

While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California.
  • BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Five (5+) or more years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years of recent GI procedure experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Charge Nurse or other leadership experience.
  • Experience with staff allocation and scheduling.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional effective information exchange with all levels of management, staff, consultants and outside agencies.
  • Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services.
  • Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.
  • Proven knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.
