Key Responsibilities- Provides individualized, holistic, and age-specific care to patients and families using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Develops and adapts comprehensive, culturally appropriate plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Identifies and responds to patient and family educational needs through individualized education plans, applying adult-learning theory to evaluate and revise plans as appropriate.
- Serves as a patient and family advocate, encouraging participation in decision-making and upholding individual and family rights.
- Delegates and assigns care to other healthcare team members within their scope of practice and coordinates with ancillary staff to expedite patient progress and workflow.
- Recognizes and responds to complex, new, or high-risk clinical situations by collaborating with or seeking additional interdisciplinary resources as needed.
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Advanced or Intermediate certification required.
- Minimum of three years of recent RN experience in a registered nurse role.
- Minimum of two years of recent RN experience in a specialty area.
- Experience working in a Labor and Delivery setting.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and address socio-cultural variables to meet diverse patient and family needs.
- Experience participating in patient care conferences and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
