The Acute Dialysis RN is responsible for overseeing the care of multiple dialysis patients, ensuring correct prescriptions are followed, medications given, required pre- and post-dialysis nursing assessments are performed, collaborating with all members of the interdisciplinary dialysis team. Provides dialytic therapies to a wide variety of patient populations at multiple locations including Hillcrest, Thornton, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, Jacobs, and the San Diego County Jail unit.
The RN monitors compliance for infection control, and all regulatory interventions as outlined in the conditions for coverage.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- RN License issued by the State of California.
- BART or BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Minimum two (2) years of dialysis experience.
- Minimum one (1) year of acute dialysis experience in a hospital setting.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions.
- Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.
- Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical skills to identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results.
- Must have excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.
- BSN.
- ACLS and/or ART.
- Inpatient, acute care RN experience.
- Critical care experience.
- Multiple modality experience (i.e. Intermittent Hemodialysis, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Peritoneal dialysis, Apheresis).
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Per Diem shift requirement is an average of 1 shift per week per 4-week schedule. Must be available 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule and a minimum of 1 holiday. This is subject to change based on individual department needs.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $190,342 - $190,342 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $91.16 - $91.16
