Job DescriptionThe Quality Inspector supports the organization by reviewing, organizing, and maintaining manufacturing documentation within a regulated medical device environment. This role focuses on scanning and archiving records, ensuring documentation accuracy, and managing a backlog of manufacturing files using a digital document control system. The Quality Inspector works extensively with computer-based tools to verify training records, support quality assurance activities, and help prioritize urgent change orders.
Responsibilities- Scan, archive, and organize manufacturing documents within the designated document control system (Master Controls).
- Locate and retrieve specific records efficiently to support quality and manufacturing activities.
- Review manufacturing records and verify that required training has been completed, including crediting training performed outside of the system when appropriate.
- Assist with managing and reducing the backlog of manufacturing documentation to ensure records remain current and complete.
- Ensure manufacturing files are organized properly and consistently in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.
- Help identify and prioritize urgent change orders, ensuring that documentation related to these changes is processed and maintained accurately.
- Perform detailed document review for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with medical device regulations and internal quality standards.
- Strong computer proficiency and ability to work expertly with digital tools and systems.
- Experience working in a quality department with responsibility for reviewing documents.
- Knowledge of medical device regulations and how they apply to documentation and quality processes.
- Experience in quality inspection, quality assurance, and quality control activities.
- Experience with document control in a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with FDA-related requirements in a medical device context.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Teams for collaboration and communication.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook for email and calendar management.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with SharePoint for document management is beneficial.
- Exposure to CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) records and related documentation is an advantage.
- Familiarity with deviation management and organization of quality records is a plus.
- Experience with Master Controls or similar document control systems is helpful.
- Interest in learning more about manufacturing documentation organization and quality system processes.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
