We are seeking a creative, motivated, and experienced bench scientist to join the Protein Sciences team at our office in San Diego. The primary responsibilities of this position are protein purification, bioconjugation, and protein analytics. This is a temporary and contract position.

Job Description:

• Perform protein conjugations, purification, and analytics; optimize protocols to meet project needs
• Design, assess and troubleshoot purification and analytics protocols
• Develop and optimize secondary purification protocols for leads and reagents
• Deliver protein preparations and data analysis packages to project teams in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• B.S. with 4+ years of industry experience performing protein purifications and/or bioconjugations; experience in protein bioconjugation and analytics (e.g. LC‑MS) is highly preferred
• Undergraduate/graduate education in the fields of Biology/Biochemistry/Biophysics
• Solid understanding of the principles of protein purification and analysis
• Experience with design, execution, and troubleshooting of purification and analytics processes, including monoclonal antibodies and other biologics
• Proficiency with AKTA instrumentation for protein purification is required
• Experience in characterization of protein preparations using SDS‑PAGE, HPLC (SEC), endotoxin measurement
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work closely with other group members within teams is essential

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego, CA is $97,000 to $125,000
. This is a temporary and contract position not eligible for benefits. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
