Proclinical is seeking a Genomics Research Associate for a contract role in San Diego, CA.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be part of this hands‑on role to drive technical execution for high‑complexity genomic data collection projects. You will work largely independently to optimize nuclei extraction protocols across diverse biological variables and execute sophisticated multi‑omics workflows.
Skills & Requirements- The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of relevant experience, demonstrating a strong track record of independent troubleshooting in a molecular biology/genomics context.
- BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- It is essential to have deep practical experience with nuclei isolation and extraction from frozen tissues
- It is essential to have demonstrated experience executing single-cell or single-nuclei sequencing workflows (e.g., 10x Genomics Multiome).
- Ability to work independently, design optimization experiments, and interpret quality control data (e.g., Bioanalyzer/Tape Station traces) without oversight.
- High level of computer literacy to maintain detailed electronic lab notebooks (ELN) and sample records.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage complex workflows involving sensitive reagents and strict timelines.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a solution-driven mindset, particularly regarding protocol troubleshooting

- Independently execute and troubleshoot advanced genomic protocols, including novel genomics protocols, Multiome, and MINT-ChIP.
- Be responsible for the end-to-end processing of samples, from frozen tissue handling to library preparation, ensuring high-quality inputs for sequencing.
- Systematically track optimization metrics to establish robust standard operating procedures (SOPs) for challenging tissue types.
- Lead efforts to implement and maintain inventory and sample tracking systems for high-value genomic libraries.
- Work closely with computational and wet-lab colleagues to plan large-scale data collection and ensure experimental designs meet analytical requirements.
- Set up and operate laboratory equipment (e.g., cell counters, thermocyclers, microfluidics platforms), prepare reagents, record and consolidate research data, and execute planned research activities with minimal supervision.
- Compensation: $45.00 - $55.00 Per Hour
