The Department of Bioengineering in the Jacobs School of Engineering at the University of California, San Diego is inviting applications for Research Scientists (non‑tenured; Assistant, Associate or Full level) in Bioengineering. Research Scientists are expected to serve as Principal Investigators on extramural grants, generate high caliber publications and research products, engage in university and public service, continuously demonstrate independent and creative research activity of high quality and significance, and garner scholarly reputation.
Appointments and duration vary depending on the length of the research project and availability of funding.

QualificationsBasic qualifications
:
PhD in Bioengineering or a related engineering discipline is required at time of application.
Preferred qualifications
:
- At least one year of postdoctoral experience after degree completion.
- Outstanding writing and communication skills, as demonstrated by a successful publication record.
- Experience and engineering background with previous employment in the fields of genomic, molecular, nuclear, cellular, organismal, physiological analysis and design, or functional biomechanics and systems analysis.
