Enqu Bio is a technology-driven discovery and contract research organization (CRO) based in San Diego, providing biology-focused preclinical drug discovery services. We partner with biopharmaceutical clients to accelerate the development of novel therapeutics across a broad range of disease areas. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our expanding In Vivo Pharmacology team.

The In Vivo Pharmacology Scientist will play a key role in leading and executing in vivo studies for both internal and client-sponsored programs. This position combines scientific leadership, hands-on study execution, and cross-functional collaboration, with opportunities to contribute to the development of new animal models and expanded research capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in rodent pharmacology, scientific rigor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced CRO environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute in vivo pharmacology studies across a range of disease models, working closely with the group lead to ensure scientific rigor and timely project delivery.
  • Serve as a key scientific contact for clients, communicating study progress, results, and technical insights clearly and professionally.
  • Manage all phases of study execution, including protocol review, in-life procedures, data analysis, interpretation, and study report preparation.
  • Perform and oversee a variety of in vivo pharmacology techniques and animal procedures in compliance with study protocols and animal welfare standards.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical and operational challenges to ensure study quality, data integrity, and project timelines.
  • Provide scientific and hands-on technical guidance to Research Associates throughout study execution.
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and coordinate study workflows to ensure efficient progression from study initiation through completion.
  • Foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment that supports team development and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with in vitro and ex vivo teams to design and deliver integrated study outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and optimization of new in vivo disease models and internal workflows aligned with client and scientific needs.
  • Ensure all studies are conducted in compliance with IACUC requirements, applicable SOPs, and animal welfare regulations.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate study documentation to support data integrity and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • PhD or MD in pharmacology, immunology, biology, or a related life science discipline, or MS with 3+ years of relevant industry or research experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with rodent models and in vivo pharmacology techniques is required.
  • Experience with oncology, immuno-oncology, or immune-mediated disease models is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a CRO or pharmaceutical/biotech industry environment is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate study workflows and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong scientific communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to present data and interact with clients.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
Physical Requirements

This role involves working in laboratory, vivarium, and office environments. Candidates must be able to:

  • Work with laboratory animals, biohazardous materials, and chemicals in compliance with applicable safety standards.
