WHATWE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a reliable individual for a part-time temporary contract Compound Management position to support our multidisciplinary drug discovery efforts. This position will work closely with chemistry and biology teams to provide comprehensive compound logistics support, including intake, registration, plating, inventory tracking, and distribution for active discovery programs.
This position is a temporary contract role and is not benefits eligible. This role is anticipated to work 20-24 hours per week. This is an on-site lab position located in San Diego, CA.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR- Works independently to manage routine activities: receive and process compound requests to support projects as well as external collaboration including packing, labeling, and maintain proper documentation.
- Logistical support for project teams including documentation management, shipping/receiving of disposables and compounds.
- Weighing, dissolution, compound storage/retrieval.
- Operation of laboratory automation and liquid handlers to fulfill requests.
- Prepare acoustic dispensed assay ready compound plates.
- Support high-throughput screening and lead profiling efforts.
- Troubleshooting and recovery of instrumentation errors.
- Adhere to EHS standards for laboratory safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment and proper operation of safety enclosures and other equipment.
- Requires current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in a relevant life sciences field.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related life sciences degree, with previous compound management experience preferred but not required.
- This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders while operating independently and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Good multi-tasking, organizational, record keeping, and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary, team-oriented, collaborative, high performance environment.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative, flexible and proactive.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
The anticipated salary range for qualified candidates is $23 - $29 per hour. This is a part-time temporary contract position and is not eligible for benefits.
